Did I go too fast for you? 😉
good!
Jokes on you, i learned it in 37,5minutes because i played it on 2x Speed
Really great video to remember different things. Thanks ?
it was perfect!
very interesting vid, although you still have ‘working with files’ but i think this more like advanced .
Me: Watching in 2x speed to learn python in 37 minutes and 30 seconds.
Big brain
I’m literally watching all videos this way
@Who-Soul Same
did the same !!!
Being a Python programmer myself, I’m very much impressed with this video. I think you covered almost everything in less than 90 minutes. Impressive. I approve! haha
Got a question. I want to learn both Java and Python, but my computer is real slow. I’m thinking can I learn these languages by downloading them on an external drive? I’ve heard of Python portable, but can I learn that and is that just as effective as the regular python? Or should I get a new internal drive with maybe 500 to 1 TB? Any help and direction would be most appreciated.
@crisstull tuims which country is that?
@Robert Spiller Just get a new computer. You’ll benefit so much by faster and newer hardware. I had lots of trouble with my Windows 97 computer, but I upgraded to newer hardware … POOF — all my troubles went away, and it’s so much faster with a SSD that is 64GB instead of a harddrive that was 500GB.
@crisstull tuims Thank you for your reply.
It helps a lot.
@crisstull tuims What other important languages would that be, like maybe C and javascript?
This video was awesome. I’ve been trying to back to coding after getting slowed down by my depression. You laid this out very simply and covered a lot of things way better than other resources. Thank you so much for this video!
How you doing now
Stay strong God Bless you
Same here bud. I’ve gotten better these days too and my motivation to get back on coding returns.
Ahh i relate to this . Hope ure doing okay now
this is absolute genius, no time wasting, straight to the point! thanks a lot for putting this together
Finally, a tutorial that I can have fun watching and still learn the language with ease and concentration…
thanks Tim, this is exactly what I need
Tim: This video is not for beginners.
Also Tim: Here’s how to download Python.
@Filip yes we do. Int can mean different thing in python and how would we know the format to display anything on console without him telling us.
I’m pretty sure I can make most of python(atleast what’s in the video) from C after watching this doesn’t mean I can write “hello world” without him telling me.
I wish ‘how to download’ videos would be kept out of programming tutorials. Keep them in a separate video for ‘slow’ people who don’t know how to use Google.
@SMAvvyGamer slow
@Filip what part of the “this is NOT for beginners” did you miss?
I personally think it was a good video and even if you are a beginner, Python is a high level language that is fairly easy to learn (as is proven by this video which “is not for beginners”) even though there is a lot of “recap” for those non beginners… Lol
Also I hope people aren’t confused by the word beginner.
This is a video about Python. No matter what other languages you may know if you don’t know Python, you are for this moment, a beginner.
Excellent revision tool for anyone with previous Python experience but needing a little refresher. I particularly like the annotations on the timeline at the bottom of the screen, which makes picking and choosing topics simple and convenient – great stuff Tim
I’m a now retired software engineer. I used primarily Java from the mid 90’s until 2016. I like to keep up with all things technical, and I’ve noticed that Python is making huge gains in a number of areas and uses. I first came across a highly rated Python video like this, but it was 4.5 hours long.
This video was exactly what I hoped to find. Very concise, not presented too fast at all for a seasoned vet of the trade. I’ve subscribed and will check back often.
Thank you!
Chad
@Robert Spiller boi its like 3 megabytes
@Robert Spiller if you can afford it, get 1 TB and also, if your current machine will handle a 1 TB, if you have room, install more RAM, if your RAM slots are full, per your machine, might be able to ram sticks in higher amount..
What do you need Python for, now that you’re retired?

@Robert Spiller I think you should probably do some reading on computer basics.
First, why use a portable version? Your ide will take up more space than python will.
Second, why not just install the drive into your computers extra HDD or SSD slot to avoid having to carry it around?
And lastly, even if you choose to use it as a portable drive, you can still run python off of it as if it were a normal drive. Just add python to path and specify location. Doesn’t matter where it is
Thanks man, I’ve gone on a long break, so I forgot many essential stuff in Python, and when I tried to take a course, most of them were very slow and decades long, they were very boring and easy but this one is just a really good revision course.
big name
Thanks, man, I learned Python a while back and this was a good recap, much appreciated! 😀

This is a great primer! Coming from Javascript and wanting to explore Python, the last thing I’d want to do is a tutorial for people just beginning to program as opposed to one focusing on syntax and intricacies of the language. I imagine that to complete beginners some things were very confusing, but people with experience appreciate this format. Thanks!
This video was perfect for me! As someone who can code in java, this was a great way to pick up some of the basic concepts and syntax for using Python. I have been wanting to learn python for a while and even got a Udemy course, but it just felt like it was going very slow because its targeted audience was complete beginners. This video was fast, but at a good pace that I could keep up with. Thank you and I look forward to watching your other tutorials on more advanced topics!
I’ve been looking for a way to refresh my memory on python (without going through 6 hours of tutorials) since I haven’t done anything with it after learning it about a month ago… Thanks Tim???
This is literally so amazing, I did javascript at university 2 years ago but never looked at python and aside from a few different syntax, this is a fantastic refresher
Great for reviewing if you haven’t used python for a long time! Great examples and clear explanations! Thanks Tim! Awesome!
I absolutely love the way you explain everything. I keep your videos on repeat while I’m doing other stuff like housework. It drills in the info when I can’t do the physical practicing and i keep finding ways you explain something that makes so much sense and therefore makes it memorable. Thanks!!
What an amazing video this is!. Thanks Tim for the work you put in and let us have access to such free but important content
I’m very impressed the fact you were able to condense that much information into an hour long video good job mate !
