My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv’s book “Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book ” Polyglot Notes” became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign language and wants to realize their full potential!

Thanks for being such a great teacher! Your enthusiasm makes it so much more fun learning Japanese (been learning off and on now for a year using Duolingo) but now I think I have the motivation to finally get it under my belt!

This is so fun, entertaining and great teaching style. I can only image those working there with you that can’t stop lol. Is like watching a stand up comedian teaching a language. 10 out of 10. ?

Wow, I thought I had picked up SO much from tv shows and music
I was wrong ? My Japanese is so bad. I have a lot to learn, wow. This is a great video though, very well done. Thank you for this!

I have some of the accent and pronunciation down, but I can’t string new words together very well at all! I feel stupid. It’s kind of a good feeling. I want to learn again.

WOW! Hontoni arigato gozaimasu! Thank you so much for posting this Risa! Honestly! Really! This is exactly what I have been looking for so I don’t feel like a complete hindrance when I travel to Japan. The worst part is when I look Japanese and surprise the locals because I am not and I don’t know the language.

Thank you very much for all these very awesome lessons!
Im just curious. Does having desu at the end of a sentence usually mean someone is being mentioned in the sentence, usually being the speaker?

Thanks Riss….after learning Japanese when I was 20 and forgetting so much because I didn’t use it here in Pennsylvania, you have brought so much back to me. It’s great knowing and learning more. The second language here is Spanish. Speaking Japanese sets me apart from everyone else.
